Williams Foundation Headquartered in Dallas County, TX E. L. Williams Foundation (ELWF), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, raises funds to financially support critical research grants to facilitate early detection and effective treatment therapies for the deadly diseases of pancreatic and gastrointestinal cancer. Stomach cancers are among the fastest growing and most underfunded cancers in the world. Annually more than 1.4 million people will be diagnosed with an upper GI cancer. Even with treatment, the five year survival rate patients diagnosed with stomach cancers have an 18% and 30% respectively after five years. Because there has been little funding to support research, minimal progress has been made to prevent or improve the survival rate. Through funding critical research, the E. L. Williams Foundation has been working to change those odds. ELWF was founded in 2015 after a stage four diagnosis of pancreatic cancer given to our patriarch Elbert Williams. The foundation was established by his daughter Dr. Hollie Williams. ELWF seeks to promote and facilitate education and collaborative research on the parthenogenesis, early diagnosis, and treatment of Upper Gastrointestinal Malignancies. |
